The City of Busselton is the management body for Meelup Regional Park, which is ‘A Class’ Reserve 12629, for the purpose of Conservation and Recreation. A formal Management Plan has been adopted by the Council and the Minister of Lands pursuant to section 49 of the Land Administration Act 1997. The management of the reserve is supported by Council, City officers and the Meelup Regional Park Management Committee.
The Committee
The Meelup Regional Park Management Committee (Committee) works in partnership with the Council and City Officers to assist in the management of the Park.
The Committee was established in 1993 and all committee members are volunteers who meet on a regular basis.
The committee is comprised of 8 members and 2 deputy members. They are responsible providing advice and recommendations to the City Officers and the Council with regards to membership, strategic direction, statutory and non-statutory plans and the encouragement, coordination and facilitation of volunteer involvement. The Committee also builds and maintains productive working relationships between the Council, City officers, volunteers and users of the park and other stakeholders to assist in the management of the Park.
