Meelup Volunteers
The Meelup Volunteers are a group of committed and highly valued community members that donate their time to assist in the conservation and maintenance of the Meelup Regional Park and its biodiversity values.
The volunteers meet each week to undertake activities in the Park including:
- pruning trails;
- weed mapping and control;
- revegetation;
- annual black cockatoo count;
- vegetation monitoring;
- flora and bird surveys;
- Tangoroa Blue beach clean-up days;
- monitoring cockatoo hollows;
- citizen science projects;
- community education; and
- working with school groups
Being a volunteer is a great way to meet like-minded people and work together to actively conserve the environment. Support is provided by the City of Busselton with technical advice, project funding, training and the provision of insurance.
The City is looking for volunteers with a diverse range of skills and experience that can be applied to a range of projects.
