Accessible Trails
Meelup Regional Park currently has three trails rated as Grade One. These trails are intended for universal access and are suitable for someone using a wheelchair with assistance. These trails are:
- The first section of the Meelup Brook Trail. The accessible portion of this trail extends for 250m from Meelup Beach to a timber deck overlooking Meelup Brook. The surface included flat limestone, a bridge with wooden planks and flat concrete.
- The Eagle Bay section of the Coastal Trail, from Reidle Park (Eagle Bay) to Baudin Memorial. The section is 400m long and is constructed of flat limestone. The trail continues to Meelup Beach via Pt Picquet and Gannet Rock but these sections are not rated as accessible and feature rocky stretches and steep inclines.
- The Meelup Beach Accessible Footpath. The footpath winds from the Meelup Beach carpark to the beach and extends via matting to the edge of the water. The footpath also features stunning artwork from Sandra Hill. Sandra is a local Wadandi artist and her artwork represents the land and sea Wagyl serpents. The path is 100m long and is constructed from concrete.
