Swimming, Surfing, and Snorkelling

In summer, the Park’s white sandy beaches and clear turquoise waters are perfect for swimming. Meelup Beach, Castle Bay, Eagle Bay and Bunker Bay are among the best beaches in WA.

Meelup Beach is a famous family-friendly picnic spot due to its shaded lawn and calm waters, while Eagle Bay and Bunker Bay are endless expanses of white sand. Castle Bay offers visitors the spectacular backdrop of Castle Rock. In addition to Gannet Rock, the rocky outcrops around these bays boast an array of marine life that is best explored through snorkelling and diving.

The HMAS Swan wreck is located off the coast of the Park. The decommissioned naval destroyer was scuttled in 1997 and is now one of Western Australia's most spectacular artificial reefs and a mecca for scuba divers. A number of commercial operators offer dive tours to the wreck and other key diving locations in the Capes Region. Private boats need a dive permit, which can be obtained from the Busselton or Dunsborough Visitor Centres.

On big swell days during winter, surfers can enjoy waves at Rocky Point, Point Piquet and Castle Bay.

Non-motorised vessels such as kayaks and stand-up paddle boards are great for exploring the bays and the scenic coastline.
