Inviting turquoise waters and white sandy beaches in a stunning natural bush setting make the park an ideal spot for snorkelling and swimming

Meelup Regional Park contains some of WA’s best swimming beaches-

  • Meelup Regional Park aerialMeelup Beach,
  • Castle Bay,
  • Eagle Bay and
  • Bunker Bay.

In summer these white sandy beaches with turquoise water are perfect for swimming. Families will love Meelup Beach, a beautiful spot where you can sit in the shade for a picnic. Good snorkelling can be found around the rocky headlands of these bays where a diversity of marine life is on display.

Located off the coast of the park is a popular dive site, the HMAS Swan dive wreck. The HMAS Swan is a 120 metre long decommissioned naval destroyer that was scuttled off Meelup in 1997 and is now one of Western Australia's most spectacular artificial reefs and a mecca for scuba divers. A number of commercial operators offer dive tours to the dive wreck and other key diving locations in the Capes Region. Private boats need a dive permit, which can be obtained from the Busselton or Dunsborough Visitor Centres.

In the winter months, on big swell days surfers can enjoy waves at several spots in the park, including Rocky Point, Point Piquet and Castle Bay.

Non-motorised vessels such as kayaks and stand-up paddle boards are great for exploring the bays and the scenic coastline.
