Featuring WA's famously loose pea-gravel surface, tight and windy trails, wildflowers, wildlife and some great views, the Meelup trails have long been Dunsborough's mountain biking secret.

Meelup Regional Park has a dedicated mountain bike zone which includes a mountain bike trail network in ‘Zone 6’.

The ‘Zone 6’ trails are located in the southern portion of the park, in an area which was once a gravel pit and landfill site, and join onto an adjacent trail network in the Dunsborough & Districts Country Club. Bike riders also have access to a number of firebreak trails, the Meelup Brook trail and some connecting trails to the Dunsborough and Districts Country Club trail network. Refer to maps below.

All other trails in the Park are walking trails only. Please respect the right of walkers to enjoy these trails and ride only on the designated bike trails and within Mountain Bike Zone.

On designated Dual Use Walking /Bike Trails, be courteous, share the trail and pass safety.

The Meelup ‘Zone 6’ trails are maintained by the Cape Mountain Bikers, and ongoing development of the trail network is expected to be carried out over a 5 year period from 2017 onwards

Mountain Bike Zone Trails

The Meelup ‘Zone 6’ MTB trail network includes a mix of technical single track, flow and jump lines suitable for beginners through to advanced riders. Featuring WA's famously loose pea-gravel surface, tight corners and winding trails and some great views, the trails have repeatedly featured as part of the closing stage of the renowned Cape to Cape race, as well as being included in a variety of adventure races including the X-Adventure.

The trails are located close to the Dunsborough township, and parking/access is available either at the gravel turn-off on Cape Naturaliste Road (opposite Endicott Loop) or via the Dunsborough & Districts Country Club trail network, which joins onto the Meelup network (it’s a great way to extend your ride, or enjoy a post-ride refreshment).
